If you make a mistake, press "Ctrl-Z" to undo your last action, or open the History panel and step back through your recent edits.Ĭlick on the unlabeled Add New Fill or Adjustment Layer button at the bottom of the Layers panel and choose "Levels" from the list of adjustment layer types. Zoom in on image details you want to remove from your drawing and paint them out on the layer mask. Press "B" to switch to the Brush tool and "D" to set the foreground and background colors to Photoshop's defaults of black and white. Photoshop adds a pixel-based mask to your layer and automatically selects the mask for editing. Click on the unlabeled Add Layer Mask button at the bottom of the panel. Working on a copy of your original artwork gives you a fallback option if you're later dissatisfied with your edits.Ĭlick on the duplicate layer's listing in the Layers panel to select it. Click on the eye icon in front of the listing for the original Background layer in the Layers panel to turn off its visibility.

Drag the "Background" layer onto the unlabeled New Layer button at the bottom of the panel to create Layer 1, a duplicate of the original master layer.
